Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Requirements

You must possess the following credentials to be considered* for the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program at New York Tech-Vancouver:

  • Four–year bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. In exceptional circumstances, applicants with an overall GPA between 2.75 – 2.99 (on a 4.0 scale) may be eligible to apply if they have a minimum of two years’ work experience with proof of employment to be submitted by the employer. These applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency:
    • IELTS Academic: Overall band score of 6.5 (NOT GENERAL) with a minimum of 6.0 in Speaking and Writing. IELTS indicator is not accepted.
    • TOFEL iBT: 88 with a minimum of 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing. TOEFL iBT home is accepted.
    • Pearson Academic (PTE): Overall 65; minimum 60 in Speaking and Writing.
    • Successful completion of the University Pathway Program from one of our partner schools (must be completed in person)

*Applicants will not be required to complete an English-language test if they have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher at an institution where the language of instruction and examination was in English in a country where English is the primary language.
**Test scores must be valid at the time of submission. All test scores and the university pathway program completion are valid for two years from the date of the test. Scores that are more than two years old are not able to be verified and cannot be used for graduate applications.
***Minimum requirements. The M.B.A. program has a limited number of seats and only the best applicants will be admitted to the program.

New York Tech Vancouver’s M.B.A. program consists of the pre-requisite/waivable program core, the required/non-waivable program core, and elective courses. The general M.B.A. consists of 30 credits plus a graduate communications course. There are nine additional pre-requisite/waivable credits that some students will be required to take before taking the required courses. These pre-requisite/waivable courses are only offered via a third-party education provider and must be taken online before the student starts the program at our Vancouver campus. Students specializing in one of the concentrations (finance or business analytics), must take additional six credits.

All New York Tech-Vancouver applications are completed online and require a non-refundable US$50 application fee. In addition, you will also be asked to upload the following documents:

  • Completed online application
  • A copy of your passport (valid passport only, expired passport will not be accepted).
  • Proof of English proficiency if you have not completed your bachelor’s degree from an accredited North American institution. Minimum overall score of IELTS (Academic and Online) 6.5 or 88 TOEFL (IBT and Home Edition) and PTE (Academic). 
  • GMAT score if your overall GPA is less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Bachelor’s degree completion certificate.
  • Semester-by-semester transcripts for all four years of your bachelor’s degree.
  • Resume or a curriculum vitae (CV) (1-2 pages)
  • Statement of Purpose (recommended)
  • Any transcripts or certificates received beyond your bachelor’s degree program.

  • Spring 2025: May 5, 2024
