To study in Canada, international students must apply for a Study Permit directly through the Government of Canada.

Important for Transfer Students:
If you are transferring from another Designated Learning Institution (DLI) within Canada to New York Tech – Vancouver campus, you must apply to extend your current study permit before completing your studies at your current institution. You must receive approval for your new study permit before registering for courses at New York Tech.

In limited cases, students may be permitted to begin their studies while their study permit extension is in progress, as outlined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). For full details, please refer to the IRCC website

Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL):

As of January 22, 2025, most new post-secondary students applying for a study permit outside Canada are also required to submit a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). Please note that a PAL will only be issued to students who have paid their deposit, and it will be sent directly to the email address on file. Please ensure that you obtain your PAL before applying for a study permit.

Please review the study permit process and prepare all of the required documents. You can use the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) package sent to you once you submit your deposit in this process.
