Master of Science in Cybersecurity Prior Learning Assessment for CSCI 651 – Algorithm Concepts
Qualifications
A student in New York Tech Vancouver’s Master of Science in Cybersecurity program can have CSCI 651 – Algorithm Concepts waived if they meet the following requirements. They must
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field; and
- Have taken an advanced algorithm analysis course in their Bachelor’s program or in a Master’s program; and
- Have passed the course with a minimum B grade.
At the discretion of the Vancouver associate dean, in addition to the above, a student may be required to take a challenge test in order qualify for the waiver. The student will have to pass the test with a minimum B grade in order to qualify for the waiver.
The challenge test will be administered each term on a pre-determined date in the week prior to the commencement of classes.
Benefits
A student who meets the requirements stipulated above will not be required to take the course in order to graduate from the program. However, the student will be required to take an elective course in lieu of CSCI 651 in order to complete the 30 credits required to graduate from the program.
