Payment Methods

Acceptable Payment Methods

  • Converts payments, which must be entered in USD currency, to your home currency.
  • Offers the best exchange rate with Flywire’s Best Price Guarantee (Bank Wire Transfer ONLY).
  • Provides access to dedicated multilingual customer support.
  • Takes about 5 to 10 business days for the payment to be posted to a New York Tech student’s account.

Paying in CAD

  • Choose Canada as the country where the funds are coming from.
  • Choose your payment method: Bank Wire Transfer, Debit/Credit Card, Online Bill Pay, or PayPal.

Paying in USD

  • Choose the country where the funds are coming from.
  • On the second page, scroll down and click on “I want to pay in another currency.”
  • Choose “International Bank Transfer in US Dollars (USD).”

  • Offers choice to pay by Bank Wire Transfer or Credit Card.
  • Converts payments, which must be entered in USD currency to your home currency.
  • Takes about 10 to 15 business days for the payment to be posted to a New York Tech student’s account.

Paying in CAD

  • Choose Canada as the country where the funds are coming from.

Paying in USD

  • Choose the United States as the country where the funds are coming from
  • Payment must be completed from a payer located in the U.S.
  • Payer must have a Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Choose “New credit or debit card.”
  • Enter the required card information.
  • Convenience Fee: 4.25% for international credit cards (including Canada) OR 2.85% for U.S. credit cards (see details).
  • If you are not the bank account holder, you must send a payer invitation:
    • Go to My Account.
    • On the section “Payers”, click on “Send a Payer Invitation.”
    • Provide the required information.
    • Click on “Send Invitation.”
    • The payer will receive an email to create a password and access to Transact Payments to pay for you.

Only checks from regular checking accounts at U.S. domestic banks will be accepted.

  • Choose “New Bank Account.”
  • Provide required banking information.
  • Read the Terms and Conditions.
  • Please note this payment method is only applicable to bank accounts in the U.S. If you use this payment method to pay out of your Canadian bank accounts, New York Tech will not receive the payment and a Service Charge of US$150 will be applied to your account

Installment Payment Plan (Current Students Only)

New York Tech students can enroll in a monthly payment plan administered by Transact Payments (formerly CASHNet).

  • Log in to the Student Service HUB.
  • Go to My Student Account.
  • Select My Account.
  • Go to Payment Plans and follow the links and instructions provided for Transact Payments (formerly CASHNet), Tuition Payment Plan.

If you need assistance with navigating the Transact Payments Full-Service Payment Plan website or enrolling into a payment plan, please contact the Transact Payments Customer Care Center, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. (ET) at 888.381.8054. (First, choose option “1” and then choose option “2” for students and parents.)

  • The Payment Plan is available to students with good payment records at New York Tech.
  • The earlier you enroll in the plan, the lower your monthly installment payment will be.
  • The Enrollment Fee of US$45 is not refundable if you withdraw from the plan.
  • You must set up a Payment Plan before the online registration portal is open.
  • You must pay your first installment plus the Enrollment Fee of US$45 for the plan to be activated.
  • After the first installment is posted to your account, please contact Lillian at lliao@nyit.edu to have the Vancouver Bursar Hold removed for online registration.
  • Any changes to the payment plan contract must be made through the Vancouver Bursar Office.
  • Failure to accept and adhere to the plan terms and agreements could result in a non-refundable late payment fee or the possible cancellation of your classes if applicable.
  • If you are delinquent on a payment, you may be prevented from enrollment in future payment plans and will be charged late fees by Transact Payments in addition to the New York Tech late fee of US$400.
  • Note: There is an administrative fee retained by New York Tech charged in addition to the enrollment fee charged by Transact Payments.

Flywire

  • Payment must be initiated from the Payment Plan inside your New York Tech Student Financial Account.
  • Never go directly to the Flywire website to pay for your installment.
  • You must set up the payment plan and pay the first installment 10 business days prior to the opening of the registration portal.
  • Flywire payment takes about 5 to 10 business days to be received by New York Tech and posted to your student account.

Credit Card (through Transact Payments)

  • Convenience Fee: 4.25% for international credit cards (including Canada) OR 2.85% for U.S. credit cards (see details).
  • Set up the payment plan and pay the 1st installment 10 business days prior to the opening of the registration portal.

  • US$10 per late installment payment charged by Transact Payments (formerly Cashnet).
  • Final installment must be paid BEFORE the due date (15th of the month). New York Tech will charge a Late Payment of US$400 if students do not complete payment plan installment payments.
