Prepayment & Registration Rules and Procedures

Rule #1: Required Minimum Prepayment Amount

Vancouver students are required to pay minimum 6 credits plus F/T College Fee before registration opens every term:

  • Spring 2024: $7,145
  • Summer 2024: $7,145
  • Fall 2024: $7,560

Rule #2: Vancouver Bursar Hold (BVN)

All the Vancouver students will have BVN placed to their student accounts 2 weeks prior to the opening of registration every semester. Once the "Required Minimum Prepayment Amount" is paid, received by New York Tech and posted to the student's account, BVN will be removed by the system automatically for online registration.

Rule #3: Bursar Financial Hold (BFH)

Bursar Financial Hold will be placed to student's account if the student has any outstanding balance after these dates:

  • Spring: January 1
  • Summer: May 1
  • Fall: August 1

Bursar Financial Hold will block a student's account from future enrollment and/or making changes to their current schedule. It is the student's responsibility to settle the outstanding payment for the system to remove the BFH automatically.

Prepayment and Registration Procedure

  1. Submit the full payment or minimum required prepayment to your student account before the registration portal is open.
  2. Once the payment is received by New York Tech and posted to your student account, Vancouver Bursar Hold will be removed by the system for online registration.
  3. Do not over register. If you register more than you have paid, you must settle the outstanding balance before the new semester starts. Your account will be blocked by Bursar Financial Hold if you have an outstanding payment and you will not be able to change your registration (add/drop courses) until the payment is made.
  4. Please DROP the course before adding a new one if you need to change the course registration. If you add the course without sufficient payment in your account, the system will trigger a Financial Hold.
  5. Please contact Lillian Liao (lliao@nyit.edu) if you are in the last semester and only require to take less credits to complete the program.
  6. If you enroll in a payment plan, please inform Lillian Liao (lliao@nyit.edu) when your first installment payment is received by New York Tech and posted to your student account.
  7. All the returning/continuing students must register courses before the new term starts to avoid a Late Registration Fee of USD $400.
  8. All the students must complete the payments before the new term starts to avoid a Late Payment of USD $400.
