- Traditional face-to-face courses at New York Tech’s Vancouver campus

- Course-Based: 21 mandatory credits, 6 elective credits, 3 credits for project, 0 credit professional practice course
- Thesis-Based: Mix of 24 credits of mandatory and elective courses, 6 credits for thesis, 0 credit professional practice course

The Master of Data Science (MDS) program has several specific application requirements for full matriculation:
- B.S. or its equivalent from an accredited college or university in computer science, IT, management, or a related field.
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- A minimum of a B grade in several mathematics and computer science courses, such as Calculus I and II, Linear Algebra, and Probability and Statistics.
- Proof of English language proficiency.
- Successful completion of the University Pathway Program from one of our partner schools.

- Completed application
- $50 nonrefundable application fee
- Transcripts from each semester of your four-year bachelor’s degree, as well as any transcripts or certificates received beyond your bachelor’s
- Statement of Purpose (recommended)
- A copy of your passport
- 1–2-page résumé or C.V.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from professors who are familiar with your undergraduate work (recommended)
Note that international students have additional requirements.
New York Institute of Technology-Vancouver is offering a Domestic Student Scholarship for Permanent Residents of Canada and Canadian students who will start in the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters.
