Program Overview
The Master of Cybersecurity (M.S.) program at New York Tech – Vancouver prepares you to design, implement, and manage secure systems across diverse platforms. Whether you choose to study on campus or online, you’ll gain the technical expertise and leadership skills needed to thrive in one of the world’s fastest-growing fields.
You’ll dive into advanced topics such as algorithm concepts, computer forensics, risk management, legal issues, intrusion detection, and hacker exploits. Our program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning through projects and research opportunities alongside our expert faculty, who are pioneers in areas like biometrics, cryptography, and cyber-behavioral authentication.

International students must complete at least 50% of their program in person in Canada to be eligible for a PGWP. Learn more from the Government of Canada websites:
Designed for working professionals and students who prefer the flexibility of remote learning, while maintaining a schedule to stay on track.
- 100% online, term-based asynchronous format. This means that you will take your courses along a typical semester pathway with frequent check ins and accountability from your professor in Vancouver
- Study at your own pace while balancing work and life

Additional Program Detail
You must possess the following credentials in order to be considered* for the Cybersecurity program at New York Tech Vancouver:
- Four–year bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Minimum GRE score of 295 (if required).
- Proof of English language proficiency or successful completion of the University Pathway Program from one of our partner schools.
Applicants without a computer science background may be eligible for conditional admission with prerequisite coursework.

- Online: Spring (Feb 16), Summer (May 15), Fall (Sept 4)
Students in New York Tech Vancouver’s Master of Cybersecurity program can have the CSCI 651 – Algorithm Concepts course requirement waived if they meet certain requirements.
Some applicants without a bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field may be required to complete the prerequisite courses before the admitted term start date,
Residents of British Columbia may be eligible for student loans through StudentAid BC.
